Blue haze over eyes

Dr. Mike,
I got an 8 month girl with dark blue eyes she has a blue
haze covering her whites of her eyes is this bad?
Hello,

The blue color that you're seeing are the blood vessels under the surface
of the eye.
Just like a vein under your skin looks blue, so do blood vessels under
the eye.

There is a very rare condition called "osteogenesis imperfecta"
which can have this sign.Osteogenesis imperfecta is a disease in
which the bones are very brittle, and break easily. But, I would doubt
that your baby would have this.

As your daughter gets older, her eyes, skin and bones will get thicker
and stronger, and her "blue haze" will most likely go away.

Just to be on the safe side, ask your doctor to examine your
baby for osteogenesis imperfecta.

I hope that helps. Dr. Mike
