Feeding a 5 Week Old

I have a 5 week old, and we were wondering how much formula to give her during each feeding. At times it seems that the four ounces that we give her doesn't satisfy, yet other times its more than enough.

Sometimes I feel like a salad, and sometimes I feel like a Big Mac. You are probably the same way. You don’t always necessarily eat the same amount at every meal.

Sometimes your little girl will be hungrier than at other times. As long as you burp her every 2-4 ounces, and keep the gas out of her belly, it sounds like she is able to handle her feeding. Growth spurts will stimulate the hunger response, also.

Watch her grow!

Thank you for your question. Dr. Mike
