I had to wait with my sick 14 month old for 3 hours in my pediatrician's waiting room before being seen!

After he finally was seen, my doctor told me that my boy needed to be admitted to the hospital. He was in there for 4 days.

My doctor never apologized or anything. In fact, he said that I should have called 2 days ago, and if I had, my baby wouldn't have been so bad.

What makes you doctors so much better than anyone else? We all work hard and are good people. Just because you are a doctor doesn't mean you are a better person. 

Wake up and be better human beings and treat your patients with respect!

Ouch!!!

Why are doctors jerks? Because we are. At least, partially.

For example, when we work long hours, we get grumpy and take it out on our patients (and co-workers). Is that a good excuse just because we work long hours? No, I am just saying that we forget the importance of treating patients with dignity because we don't stop and think about it.

When do I realize that I am a jerk? When my wife tells me. When a parent tells me. When a co worker tells me. We are human, too. You just have to speak up sometimes, because we have to hear it. Otherwise, we think that there is nothing wrong, and we are doing a great job.

One of our main jobs is to treat our patients with respect. Keep emphasizing that to us and we won't forget it.

Give your doc a second chance. If he's like that all the time, dump him!
