Hi
Donna,
In
the first few months of life, a baby's poop can make a lot of changes. I
would be interested in the following answers:
1.
Is your baby in the normal range for height and weight?
2.
Does he poop about 2-8 times a day?
3.
Does he pee at least every 8 hours?
If
your answer is yes to all of the above, then that is good. For more on
bowel movements, please click below:

Nutramigen is fine, but soon (in the next month or so) you can try going
back to conventional formula. Nutramigen will get expensive for you.
Crying and straining with bowel movements is normal. Cramping from gas
(Colic) can cause your baby to be grumpy. Colic goes away once babies
are 3-4 months of age. Mylicon has never been proven to improve gas pain
or colic in babies, even though some people swear by it.
As
your little one gets a little older, his bowel habits will improve and
he will feel better. I hope that helps. Dr. Mike
