Michelle initially was set to care for my daughter but received a critical phone call for another ill patient. Cristy then took over our care. In addition to both of them being kind, considerate and thorough, they both always make us feel welcome and comfortable in your office. My daughter especially liked that Michelle's shirt and Cristy's earrings/necklace matched the green room.

I left a question mark in the "Was your reception friendly?" question due to the fact that you appeared to be understaffed (or overworked) that day and though Michelle poked her head out to "see" us, she did not greet us-that being said, Danara came out about 30 seconds later and "checked us in"-immediately taking us to our room. I also wanted to add that our appointment was at 10:45 and after the phone call hiccup, we were not able to leave until 11:40... Please understand this is not meant to be critical. 95+% of the time we have been 100% pleased with your level of caring and service. We appreciate the way most of your staff can relate to us on a personal level. We have recommended and will continue to recommend your practice to others

As usual, you all are wonderful. Thanks to everyone who has been helping us watch over Evan as he tries to beat this cold and the ensuing ear infection.

Dr. Pappas-We started bringing our kids to see you just over a year ago-we couldn't be happier with our decision. Everyone in your office is fantastic and we are always accomodated when requesting same day sick appointments. Thank you for the excellent care of our kids!

Cristy (Pediatric nurse practitioner) is a wonderful new add to your office!

Always a pleasant visit, never feel rushed..........great office!

I love all of you and have not had a bad visit EVER! Mike, Amy, and Michelle always take great care of the kids and make us smile! I love you all!!!!! Dawn is a hoot!!!!!! I just love her!

Dawn is always friendly and helpfull

You all are amazing, caring, loving people who provide excellent service... perhaps your true mission to the Good Lord ;-) God Bless You all!

Good Morning, my child is a patient of Dr. Pappas and we love the experience we've had since he was born early last year. Dr. Pappas was recommended by several friends and we haven't regretted our choice. We've even made the recommendation to several of our friends who have recently had children and they too are very happy with their choice or practices. That said, I got some very disturbing news from a friend of mine who just had her first child a few days ago. We had recommended your practice to her as well and she was very excited to call you and get started. However when she called to ask if new patients were being accepted, the receptionist asked her what insurance she had and she told her that they were NOT accepting new patients with that insurance, said goodbye and hung-up. My friend (in shock) called back to ask if she could at least recommend another doctor and was told "uh, no... " and hung-up. I'm sure this is not common practice for your office because we've dealt with your receptionists on many occasions, but you can surely understand my concern since I recommended your office to this new mother and this is the experience she had. I guess I just want to make sure that this is not common practice and if its possible that you have a new receptionist that is just learning the job and might not be accustomed to providing the awesome customer service we've come to expect from your office.

Dr. Mike: I am sorry that your friend had such an experience with us. We try to do the best we can as well as be as professional as possible. I have discussed this with all of the staff, and will work to make sure that this does not happen again.

I could not ask for a better doctor's office and staff to take my daughter to. You all are wonderful!!

If we have a past due bill, please let us know when we are in the office so we can settle it immediately!

It would be nice if Dr. Pappas had more office hours...While Amy and Michelle are both incredibly nice and knowledgeable, I can't help but feel that years of experience of an MD is sometimes what is necessary for my children.  I am just more comfortable with Dr. Pappas.

Dr. Mike: I also work at Toledo Children's pediatric intensive care unit, and am responsible for both day and night coverage, for certain days of the month. When I am there, I can't be here in the office.

While I understand what you mean by comfortable, Amy has more years of experience in the ER setting than I do. Michelle has both pediatric hospital and clinic experience as a nurse prior to working here, also.

I trust both of their opinions even when it relates to my own children.

Michelle was very helpful in getting Logan into a dermatologist..we got in the same day we saw Michelle. Michelle even called the next day to see how his appointment went...very impressive! I am always impressed with the office and how easy it is to get in.

As always a great experience.

Wonderful experience as always! Michelle is just great. I appreciate her encouraging us to use the natural ointment we have been using on Holden's skin as opposed to pushing a prescription on us. She simply said one would be available if we decided we needed it.

We have been with your office since July 2002 and continue to be
extremely satisfied with all aspects of your practice. Amy and Michelle
are both wonderful. Although we do miss seeing Dr. Pappas, Amy and
Michelle are providing excellent care for our three girls. It was a real
blessing when Amy came on board as our oldest daughter was just reaching
puberty and was a little nervous about her doctor visits. Thank you all
so much for you kindness and excellent care. We do appreciate all you
do. Dr. Pappas we hope to see you at our next visit. Thanks again.
Very sympathetic towards my sick child and myself. We love everything
about the office!
We really like Amy and Michelle a lot. However, I was so excited for my
son to have the opportunity to see Dr.Pappas again. We have missed
seeing him. We are thrilled that you are in the office more again!!!!!

The wait was way too long.  Our appointment was for 4:30, and we didn't
get out of there until 5:45.  I would expect a visit to take about 45
minutes total.

Dr. Mike: If you tell us that you would like to be out of your appointment fast, we can try and do that. But, sometimes, we try to be thorough. Well checks generally take longer than sick checks though. Just let us know if you are in a rush, and we can try and accommodate you.

Would you every consider splitting the waiting room into sick check/well
check?  Even with good hand-washing habits, it would seem like fertile
haven for germs.  I always feel like I'm playing russian roulette trying
to get my toddler to sit and play with the toys/dolls I bring rather
then the stuff in the waiting room.  Would appreciate it if you would
think about it....

Dr. Mike: Yes, we have thought about it. The one main problem with that is that even when kids are here for well check ups, they may still have a cough or runny nose, and even a fever, especially in the winter. So, there are sick kids even in the well kids area.

And the opposite is true as well. A sick visit may be a child with ear pain, that turns out NOT to be any infection. This "sick check" really shouldn't be in with the sick kids, but is because of his ear pain.

In an ideal setting, we could pull it off, but it's difficult to do.

Although friendly, I asked...to have a receipt ready for me after
our appointment & paid upon arrival. I had to wait for that to be done
after asking for it again...seemed to take...time doing it. While
my child was playing with the bubble maker during this time, it ran out
of "juice" & ...didn't bother to refill it until we were walking out
the door. I guess it would have been nice if...handled our time
differently. Everything & everyone else was great as usual!

I really appreciate Dr. Pappas taking my calls in the middle of the
night when my daughter is ill. It is a relief to know that I have
someone to contact when she has a high fever or emergency situation
after hours.  Thank you!

The service is great, and the response time for a call back is also
great. everyone in the office has been very helpful, and polite to my
kids, and I. I am very happy with the office. I also like that there is
no trouble getting my children in when they are sick.

You are great!  We ALMOST want to come to the doctor:)

I would like to Thank all of you for your great service. As a new mom
sometimes I may have silly questions. Everyone on the phone, and in
person have always made me feel like every question is important and I
have always received a great answer to my question. I will continue to
refer my friends and family to your practice. We are very happy and hope
to add more of our own little patients to your practice.

We are so grateful that we found an awesome group to take great care of
our son.  He actually asks when can we go to see you guys.  You must be
doing right when my son wants to go to the doctors.

I am extremely pleased with the care that my daughter has received at Dr. Pappas' office. I love the NP's they are very knowledgeable and friendly.

As a working parent, I totally appreciate the late night on Mondays for well visits!

We feel that we are very lucky to have found your staff. As first time parents who really are learning as we go we greatly appreciate all of the straight forward knowledge and accessibility that we have experienced. Thank you all for all you do!

I really like the atmosphere.

I was very impressed with my first visit to the office. Of course as a first time parents we're so concerned with getting our daughter the best care, and your staff is totally above and beyond!

I expected my children to be under the care of a MD, not a CPNP. Since the move to the new building, I believe my two children have seen Dr. Pappas once. All other times, a CPNP has cared for them, not that I was necessarily asked if that was acceptable when making the appointments. I am not excited that yet another CPNP is on-board with the promise of more hours that they will give care...I would love to hear Dr. Pappas' explanation of why he feels a CPNP is equally qualified as a MD. That surely must be his belief. Otherwise, he is knowingly giving and charging patients for lesser care by employing what seems to be an office where the CPNP's dominate. If Dr. Pappas wishes to reduce his personal workload, then why not partner with actual MD's????

Dr. Mike: When my wife Cristy and I first started the practice in 2001, we averaged 1-2  patients a week! We were the only two staff in the office, and some of you may recall that our other place was much smaller and quainter.

Fortunately for us, we have increased the families who come to us, and we have continued to increase our hours to accommodate that trend, as well as office space and additional staff.

My original intent, and still present intent, is NOT to work more and more hours, because I would never see my wife or kids (I also still do some pediatric intensive care coverage, primarily on the weekends, and at night). So, as we grow, we need to have more help.

Dawn (medical assistant) joined us in 2006, and now can do the "front line" stuff as well as clinical duties, and administrative jobs.

Amy Spangler (pediatric nurse practitioner) joined us in 2004. I met Amy when I was working ER shifts at Toledo Children's hospital ER. I thought she was so good that I wanted her to work with us, and she did (she still continues to cover ER shifts)! I can honestly say that she is as good or better than most physicians that I know.

Michelle Miller (pediatric nurse practitioner) just joined us in 2006. She graduated summa cum laude from Medical University of Ohio. She was too good to pass up, and I feel we are lucky she is here as well.

In the state of Ohio, nurse practitioners are medically and legally capable of caring for children just as pediatricians do. Nurse practitioners can be as good, if not better than a lot of pediatricians. I believe that nurse practitioners spend more time with families than I do.

I, also, strongly believe that a good, caring, and solid clinician is just that, whether it is a nurse practitioner or pediatrician.

I truly appreciate the communication opportunity via e-mail with Dr. Pappas. My messages are answered promptly and thoroughly. It is such a huge benefit!

We can't express how grateful we are for your office! Everyone there is so nice. I try to refer people there as often as I can, so I'm happy to hear about the additional staff and possible extended hours.

I didn't like it when I was told me I should let my son cry himself back to sleep as oppose to breast-feeding him when he wakes in the middle of the night. I'm a first time parent and I guess I just can't imagine letting my child cry for any reason.

Dr. Mike: We try to make recommendations that will help not only your child, but you as well. Sometimes, infants can be "pushed" into sleeping all night, and other times not. As a parent myself, I wouldn't want to watch my child cry all night if I can help it, so I understand where you are coming from. We try to make recommendations, but your instinct will always be the best choice!

I would like to receive appt. reminders in the mail or e-mail that would be helpful. Congrats to Michelle!

The nurse practitioner that we met with last time was extremely caring, friendly and informative.

I hadn't gotten to know Amy till I came last month with Andrew... she's great!

By far the best decision we ever made regarding our children! The care and compassion of the entire office is wonderful. Everyone is always ready to offer tips and help.

I appreciate your willingness to get our daughter, in as fast as you did.

Everyone has been very helpful

We love the service and the kindness you all give to our kids. God bless you all!

I love the care and compassion we receive every time we come there. I have had the pleasure of meeting Michelle, Amy and Dr. Pappas and I have been very happy with all of them. Thank you.

I appreciate that when I call with questions concerning treatment of minor sx's that helpful treatment options are given.

We love the service and the kindness you all give to our kids. God bless you all!

I have not had the opportunity to work with Michelle, but I met her and she seems very nice. Amy is awesome and we love Dr. Pappas also!

My oldest is 14 and this is the best pediatric office I've ever been to. The responsiveness when a child is ill has way exceeded my expectations. Great Job to all!

I have really enjoyed the addition of Amy and Michelle to your staff! I just feel that sometimes we are "just another patient to see". While I know that is what we are, and it is hard when you see so many people, but everyone else we see on your staff makes us feel like they are personally vested in our family.

We met Michelle for the first time this past week and we really believe she is a great fit for the office. She was extremely nice and knowledgeable. She spent a great deal of time with us answering questions and interacting with our girls. We appreciate the friendly staff. Thank you!

You should give a reminder call for well check appointments 24 hours in advance since there is a long lead time for them. You should also tell parents that children are now required to give a urine sample at well check appointments during the reminder call.

We are new to your office. I am very happy with your office and staff! Everyone is so friendly and seem genuinely happy to have children around. I wish we had transferred long ago!
